Rosslyn, South Africa | 31 March 2025 – Nissan South Africa has officially launched the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior, the first market outside Australia to offer this award-winning Premcar-enhanced 4×4.
Following a collaboration involving Nissan South Africa, Nissan Australia and Premcar, the popular tailor-made-for-Australia Navara PRO-4X Warrior ute has now been re-engineered and re-developed by Premcar to deliver its impressive capability gains specifically for South Africa’s unique driving conditions.
Premcar conducted extensive local development and validation testing when developing this South Africa-specific version of the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior. The Australian carmaker focussed on performance and durability to meet local needs.
Premcar followed the same new-car development program it used when initially developing the first Australian-market Nissan Navara Warrior in 2019, the Navara N-Trek Warrior, which was later succeeded by the current-model Navara PRO-4X Warrior in 2021.
This new-for-South Africa version has also commenced production at Nissan South Africa’s new-car manufacturing facility in Rosslyn. This new-car secondary manufacturing program is run by Premcar SA, a venture between Premcar and local specialist firm AIH.
First local customer deliveries of South Africa’s new Navara PRO-4X Warrior are planned to commence towards the end of March 2025.

Premcar has made a number of significant changes to the South African-market Nissan Navara PRO-4X to create this new Warrior hero version. These changes include:
- A new-for-South Africa chassis tune (including newly engineered and developed suspension springs and dampers, the latter fitted with new technology specifically tuned and optimised for local roads and driving tastes) *
- Warrior-style 17-inch alloy wheels
- Maxxis RAZR all-terrain (A/T) tyres suited to local conditions *
- Unique-to-South Africa front bumper bar design and assembly *
- Wheel arch flares
- Warrior-branded front seats
